2008/2009 CLESPTA DANCE CLASSES

            Welcome to the 2008/2009 Dance program sponsored by the CLESPTA.  Under the direction of Cindee Velle, we would like to welcome back dance instructors Debbie Braun  and Nikki Slack.

12 Week Fall Session

          CLASS SCHEDULE FOR MONDAYS 
3:30 to 5:00 p.m. - gr. 1 & 2 and new gr. 3 - Ballet/Jazz I - Debbie Braun
5:00 to 5:45 p.m. - Pre K & K - Creative Movement - Nikki Slack

Class Dates:  9/15, 9/22, 9/29, 10/6, 10/13, 10/20, 10/27, 11/10, 11/17, 12/1, 12/8 and 12/5.  (No class 11/3 and 11/24.) 

FALL 2008 TUITION  

• Annual $15 registration and insurance fee.
• Creative Movement students - $100 tuition for 12 classes.
• Ballet/Jazz students - $130 tuition for 12 classes.

Ballet/Jazz students may bring a healthy, peanut free, snack to class.  Creative Movement students have a shorter class time (45 minutes) therefore it would be best for them to have a snack prior to class. 

 RECITAL FEES - Due by November 19, prior to Thanksgiving, payable to Ballet with Cindee Velle:

• Creative Movement recital costume and prop fees are $55 per child.
• Ballet/Jazz recital costume and prop fees are $105 per child, including both costumes.

We will again be putting on our recital in cooperation with Worthington Elementary School.  Exact dates and location of the recital are determined by the availability of a Howard county school auditorium.  You will be advised when these dates and location are confirmed.

SPRING 2009 TUITION FEES - Due Wed. Dec. 10 and 15 (the last fall class) payable to Ballet with Cindee Velle. Tuition prices will be the same for the12 week 2009 spring session, as the fall 2008 session.  Only new students will be required to pay the $15 registration fee. Exact dates of the spring session TBA.

PAYMENT IN FULL OF ALL FEES ON THE REQUIRED DATE IS MANDATORY TO ASSURE YOUR CHILD'S PLACEMENT IN CLASS AND IN THE RECITAL. STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IF FEES ARE NOT PAID ON TIME.  A 10% LATE FEE WILL BE ADDED TO OVERDUE PAYMENTS.

Inclement weather: Please note class is cancelled when school is closed. Every effort will be made to make up missed lessons due to the weather, based on space availability at the school and teachers’ schedules.

ATTIRE FOR CLASS - Girls are to wear pink Ballet slippers, pink tights,  a pink leotard for Creative Movement and a black leotard for Ballet/Jazz.  Boys are to wear black Ballet shoes, black tights or dance pants and a white T-shirt.  All Ballet/Jazz students, grades 1 through 5, also need black Jazz shoes.  This dress code will be enforced in all classes.  Street clothes and sports wear are not acceptable attire for dance class.  These items may be purchased at Premier Dancegear in the Columbia Gateway Plaza. HOUSE RULES

·         No gum, food or drink (except water) is allowed in the gym. 

·         Students are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful, orderly fashion.

·         Parents are requested to wait outside of the classroom during the lesson.

·         Students must wait inside the building for parents to pick them up.

·         Please pick your child up promptly after class. Teachers are not obligated to wait with children who are not picked up on time.
